Governor Catamco squeezes hectic sked to be with the province’s elderly members

Obviously enamored by one of her most respected federated groups in the province, Cotabato Governor Nancy Catamco squeezed her usual busy day today to spend some light moments with the senior citizens at her office.

“I told them here that I’ll be meeting you first today.  You are on top of my priority list”, she told them in between beams.

The Governor backs the proposal of the members of the Federation of Senior Citizens-Cotabato Provincial Chapter of hosting the upcoming Regional Senior Citizen Summit which will be conducted on October.

She even committed to endorse the said proposal as soon it reaches her office to the members of the Provincial Governor’s League in Region XII where she seats as its Regional President.

Governor Catamco has also urged the group to submit a proposal for the establishment of a Senior Citizen Garden Park, a gazebo type with benches, in every municipality in the province.

She wants the elderly to have a place where they can relax and do leisurely activities while breathing fresh air instead of just staying and conducting meetings in a suffocating four-cornered air-conditioned office.

“You need a place where you can breathe fresh air or have some picnics from time to time, you deserve that”, she told them.

The Governor also added that her administration has no problem in adopting the programs implemented by the previous administrations that advance the general good of the elderly in the province.

The present officers of the Federation of Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines-Cotabato Provincial Chapter are as follows:  Rolando Pagtolon-an of Mlang-President; Buena Porras-Vice President; Julio Camariñas, Jr-Secretary; Genova Galvez-Treasurer;  Nenita  Lambenecio-Auditor; Carmen Sanchez-Social Manager;  Thelma Dabon-Department Social Manager and Gervacio Giron as the PIO.

Other officers who also took their oath today were Angelina Fortunado, Erlinda Estestes, Jorge Subaldo, Jose Palmes, Pablo Balgua, Nenita Sunsay, Marietta Casumpang, Letecia Pamoleras, Loreta Gementiza, Adelaida Letada and Leonora Bedallo.\\idcd/ozg\\
