Kidapawan City’s boxers dominate Kalivungan Tourney, cagers settled for 1st runner-up award in 2 categories

Kidapawan City boxers out slugged their opponents and bagged the P10,000.00 champion’s award in the recently concluded Inter-LGU Amateur Boxing Tournament held in line with the province’s 105th foundation anniversary.

 The team dominated categories like the 32 kgs., 36 kgs.and 48 kgs winning 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 3 bronze meda

Gold medalists included Darwin Lagaso (32kgs), Renz Alqueza (36kgs) and John Ryan Cañete (48 kgs) while the silver medalists were Jorralou Bitgue (38kgs) and Kenneth Mancao (46kgs) and bronze medal finishers were Schwarzen Buer (34kgs), Danpol Engay (50kgs) and John Buer (52kgs.).

 Barangay Magsaysay meanwhile recorded a 1st-runner-up finish bagging 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 2 bronze medals and took home P7,000.00 cash prize as boxers from the town of Antipas settled for the 2ndrunner-up trophy with 1 gold medal, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals receiving P5,000.00 cash prize.

 The City’s local basketball players on the other hand bowed to their finals opponents settling for the 1st runner-up awards as the LGU cagers were outclassed by the Midsayap LGU players in the Inter-LGU category while Team Makilala defeated them in the Inter-Municipality Open.

                Other winners of the Kalivungan Basketball Tournament were the Cotabato Electric Cooperative (COTELCO) for the Inter-Agency category while players from the Jose Maria College of Davao overcame Notre Dame Midsayap Coollege during their finals match to go home as the champ of the Kalivungan Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tourney.

The provincial government’s own basketball team settled for the 3rd prize in the Inter-LGU category with LGU Alamada in the 4th place. //idcd-pgo/ozg\\
