DPWH and LGU-Mlang to re-survey road-right-of-way of the proposed Central Mindanao Airport

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in collaboration with the local government unit of Mlang will conduct immediate re-survey of the road-right-of way of the proposed Central Mindanao airport in Tawantawan, Mlang to settle the issue involving the access road traversing Barangays Langkong and Tawantawan, both in Mlang.

The re-survey was recommended by Mlang Mayor Russel M. Abonado during the meeting he attended this morning at the governor’s office saying that the re-survey should be conducted as soon as possible and would be based on the Feasibility Study conducted by Engineering Development Corporation of the Philippines (EDCOP).

 Abonado and former Mlang Mayor Luigi B. Cuerpo, representing the land owners of the airport project assured to help negotiate with other stakeholders for the fast implementation of the said re-survey.

It can be recalled that last week, a similar meeting was held where original land owners agreed to support the immediate processing of certificate of confirmation of sale so that the project can proceed.

 The meeting today was facilitated by the Central Mindanao Airport technical working group led by Provincial Legal Officer Atty.  Jonah D. Mineses and Provincial Planning and Development Office Chief Ms. Cynthia D. Ortega and was also attended by representatives from Area Development Project Office (ADPO), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) 1st District Engineering Office and Provincial Engineering Office.

 On September 3, 2019 another meeting will be conducted to evaluate the developments relating to the actions taken on the fast-tracking of the proposed Central Mindanao Airport. Among those expected to also attend are other concerned line agencies like the Department of Transportation (DOTR), Department of Environment and Natural resources (DENR), Civil Aviation Authority (CAAP) National Economic Authority (NEDA),  Area Development Project Office (ADPO), Mindanao Development Authority (MINDA) PNB Central Office, Registry of Deeds (ROD), local government units of Mlang and the province of Cotabato. //mdd//
