To attract more investors and promote the local products of Arakan Valley Complex (AVC) and the municipality of Tulunan, the AVC- Project Management Office (AVC-PMO) in collaboration with Action Against Hunger (ACF) and Provincial Government of Cotabato is set to hold a 2-day Arakan Complex Investment Fair on September 19-20, 2019.
The AVC is a cluster area of at least 274,300 hectares located in the north-central part of Cotabato province comprising five municipalities: Antipas, Arakan, Magpet, Matalam and President Roxas.
During their courtesy visit yesterday to Governor Nancy A. Catamco, the Administrator of AVC-PMO Kerwin Jade A. Mallorca said that the 2-day activity is meant to attract social investors in the areas of agriculture, trade and commerce, basic social services and utilities particularly in Arakan Valley Complex and Tulunan.
He added that the investment fair is part of strategic development process of AVC-PMO that will result to identification of priority development areas of AVC and Tulunan.
On the other hand, Jules Benitez Project Manager, Rise Project of ACF also supported the activity and said that their organization through the European Union Delegation in the Philippines, also conducted community based participatory planning in some 50 areas of AVC and Tulunan.
The AVC Investment Fair will highlight different activities such as; Investment Opportunities Pitching, Pasundayag (A Celebration of Cultural Heritage of Arakan Valley), AVC Complex Site Tour, Museyo Kutawato Tour, and Governor’s Night.
In response to this, Governor Nancy A. Catamco, elated of the initiative, agreed to support and host the event, saying “this activity will attract more investors and will also help the farmers and business sector of Arakan Valley and Tulunan.” //ras-idcd/
