‘Listening Governor’ wants officials, employees to talk to her

Amas, Kidapawan City – Listening is a leadership quality that does not appear in the job description.   But when she took oath as the 25th Cotabato Governor, the new chief executive of the province promised that her administration will be unifying instead of divisive.

Speaking before hundreds of provincial and national officials and employees of the province of Cotabato, Governor Nancy Alaan Catamco urged everyone to not fear the new leadership in the province, saying she understands the apprehension and doubts of some every time a new leader takes over the reins of governance.

“Speak to me and tell me directly your problem or your proposal to improve our delivery of basic services.  I will listen to you.  As my new family, I am your mother now and I assure you of fair treatment.  I don’t entertain ‘sipsip’ – they won’t get anything from me,” the governor stressed.

Governor Catamco also added that the employees can expect a safe working environment. She noted in her inspection of the capitol that repair of some buildings and facilities are urgently needed.

“Our home should be fixed first in order for each and every one of us to better contribute to the attainment of our development agenda.”

And for those who still have reservations and are hesitant to be part of the new governance, Governor Catamco offers:“Dumaki, Kuyog Ta” an invitation to join and be part of her administration.

After the said activity held at the provincial gymnasium at 8:00 o’clock in the morning July 1, the Governor called the Chiefs of Office for a management meeting to listen to the issues and concerns and challenges of each department.

In the afternoon, she proceeded to the Cotabato Provincial Hospital and the Provincial Engineer’s Office for a conference. The Governor will be visiting the rest of the provincial offices in due time. //mdd//
