PNP Chief PGen. Eleazar thanked NorthCot Gov Catamco, bares intention of visit

Chief of the Philippine National Police PGen. Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar thanked North Cotabato Governor Nancy A. Catamco when he paid courtesy visit to the governor on Wednesday, August 25, 2021.

“I am here to personally thank the good governor for your support to our policemen and our programs in peace and security. Alam naman nating lahat na ang development sa ating communities ay nakasalalay sa peace and order ng isang pamayanan, ” he said.

PGen. Eleazar noted the impact of the local government units (LGUs) support to the police force as it will strengthen peace building initiatives, especially police community relations program of the PNP. The police official also expressed gratitude to other local officials from different local government units (LGUs) for their usual and continued support to the PNP.

The country’s top police officer conducted command visit to the regional headquarter in General Santos City as PNP Chief, of which he has decided to include the city and provincial police offices during his term of service which to him will help boost the morale of policemen especially those in the countryside.

Crime prevention and solution efficiency

PGen. Salazar also noted in his message the “improvement” in the country’s crime prevention during the first 5 years under the Duterte administration where, according to him, crime incidence was reduced to 64% from its previous rate while crime solution efficiency is now at 49% or 1 solved crime in every 2 ratio during the above-mentioned period from its previous 1 out of 4 or 26% crime solution rate.

Intensified cleanliness campaign

He also stressed the “intensified cleanliness policy” which he launched in the PNP – cleanliness in the office, cleanliness in the ranks, cleanliness in the community. He said, one effective way to address complicated problems is to first address the most basic ones.

“Napakalaking bagay ito upang makuha natin ang respeto ng tao. Kaya sana po magtulungan tayo,” the PNP chief urged local officials and other stakeholders.

“Hangad ko po na tumaas ang tiwala ng ating mga kababayan sa ating kapulisan because only through their trust and confidence that we will be able to engage them in our endeavours and that would make us more effective in our job,” the general added.

As a token of gratitude PGen. Eleazar gave Governor Catamco a certificate of appreciation while the governor also gave the PNP Chief and his escorts some tokens as well.

Meanwhile, Governor Catamco has assured PNP Chief Eleazar that the provincial government and the local PNP here are working together in ensuring peace, order, and security in communities especially with the conduct of the Whole-of-Nation approach program of the national government or ending local communist armed conflict where the government provides holistic development programs in identified conflict-affected areas.

The governor also took pride in the Proposed Integrated Command and Control Center in the province which is designed to intensify and centralize the province’s peace and security system.

The Integrated Command & Control Centre (ICCC) shall be a setup which will not only manage safety and surveillance from Police/Traffic Police perspective. It will serve as the “nerve center” for operations management, day-to-day exception handing and disaster management, among others.
