Cotabateños will soon have a much easier access to various health services as province strengthens local health care system.
In a meeting between Department of Health (DOH) XII Regional Director Aristides Concepcion Tan and Governor Nancy A. Catamco on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, RD Tan discussed the guidelines on the Integration of the Local Health System into Province-wide / City-wide Health Systems (P/CWHS).
The program is an integrated health system in which health care providers will deliver continuous and integrated health services to individuals and communities in a defined catchment area. A network for all health care providers, whether public, private or mixed will be established to ensure that the general public has access to all levels of care (primary, secondary or tertiary).
Delighted with this health initiative, Governor Catamco said the program is indeed timely especially during this time of pandemic wherein health is one of the top priorities of the provincial government.
The governor was also looking forward for the program to benefit more indigent patients and avail of the universal health care of the government in partnership with the local government units (LGUs) as soon as it is implemented.
On Friday, January 29, 2021, Governor Catamco will convene the Provincial Health Board along with the local chief executives from 18 LGUs and other stakeholders to discuss the guidelines of the said program. //pgo-idcd//
