Amas, Kidapawan City- The Provincial Government of Cotabato acquires new equipment to be utilized by the different community and district hospitals in the province as part of its continuing efforts to provide not only quality but excellent medical services to Cotabateños.
On Monday, December 7, 2020, Cotabato Governor Nancy A. Catamco turned-over to Integrated Provincial Health Officer Dr. Eva C. Rabaya the new medical equipment amounting to P41.M which was funded under the Bayanihan Grant for provinces.
The said equipment will be distributed to Cotabato Provincial Hopsital (CPH), M’lang District Hospital (MDH), Aleosan District Hospital (ADH), Arakan Valley District Hospital (AVDH) in Antipas, Fr. Tulio Favali Municipal Hospital in Tulunan, President Roxas Provincial Community Hospital, Alamada Provincial Community Hospital, and Dr. Amado Diaz Foundation Hospital located in Midsayap.
Governor Catamco, who was delighted with the arrival of the new equipment, said that with this kind of upgrading in our hospital facilities, we are confident that we can cope up with the demands from these hospitals especially during this time of pandemic.
“We are also assured of a quality and efficient medical services to our constituents,” the governor added.
The newly acquired medical equipment include; ICU electrical bed, ICU ventilators, operating room anaesthesia machines, heavy duty bedside cabinets, mechanical hospital bed, pediatric bed with side rails and mattress, beds, mattress, bed slide table, delivery table, and examining table with stirrup.
The new medical equipment will also be an advantage to COVID-19 facilities of the province which are now being utilized in catering COVID positive patients.
It can be recalled, that one of the 8-point development agenda of Catamco’s Administration is the upgrading of provincial government-owned and managed hospitals by improving the structures, providing quality medicines and procuring medical facilities.
Before the P41.2M allocation from Bayanihan Grant to the provinces, the provincial government had already allocated P40.6M for the procurement of medical equipment for COVID-19 facilities which was included in Supplemental Budget No.1 fiscal year 2020.//idcd-pgo//
