Cotabato Province is all set for the launching activities slated next week in line with the implementation of President Rodrigo Duterte’sorder to End Local Communist and Armed Conflict (ELCAC) nationwide.
Members of the Provincial Task Force (PTF) on ELCAC, convened yesterday at the Capitol Rooftop, Amas, Kidapawan City discussing matters concerning security, food and area preparation, transportation; power supply, incident command post and others.
The activity, dubbed as Serbisyo Caravan, will kick off Tuesday, October 15 with Barangay Balete in Magpet town as the first barangay-beneficiary.
Interventions include medical and dental check-ups; supplemental feeding; food assistance; eyeglasses for senior citizens; buntis kit and hygiene kits for pregnant women; supplemental feeding; animal dispersal, cooperatives development training-seminar, fingerlings distribution, fruit trees and vegetable seeds distribution, veterinary health services for pet and farm animals and other froms of assistance to be delivered by the different Regional Line Agencies (RLA).
Eight conflict-affected areas in the towns of Magpet, Arakan, Tulunan and Makilala are set to be visited by the Serbisyo Caravan team composing of doctors, agriculturists, social workers, veterinarians, finance team members, cooperatives officers and top officials of other national line agencies.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Provincial Planning and Development Office headed respectively by Provincial Director Ali Abdullah and Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator, Cynthia Ortega act as the Secretariat for the implementation of the ELCAC.
Acting Governor and PTF Chair, Hon. Emmylou “Lala” Taliño-Mendoza along with top officials of the military, police and other national agencies will be leading the Serbisyo Caravan.//ozg/ppdo\\
