Flexi-time to be implemented again at the provincial government Employees assured of comfortable transport services with purchase of additional bus units

Cotabato Governor Nancy Catamco has proven that she is indeed serious in her commitment of advancing the welfare of the provincial government workers after she approved today, July 16, the request for “flexible time” of workers residing in the province’s First Congressional District or those coming from the towns of Pigcawayan, Midsayap, Libungan, Alamada, Aleosan and Pikit.

The measure will allow employees from the aforementioned towns to go out from work at 4:30 in the afternoon and arrive home earlier than expected.

To comply however with the Civil Service Rules on the mandatory 8 working hours per day or 40 working hours per week, employees who are on a flexi-schedule must resume work at 12:30 in the afternoon making their official time-in and time-out as 8am to 12pm and 12:30pm to 4:30pm.

Aside from approving the flexi-time, Governor Catamco has also given provincial workers another reason to celebrate as they will also be assured of a better and more comfortable transport service as the present leadership is scheduled to purchase soon at least four buses to be assigned to the province’s three Congressional Districts.

Two more buses will be provided for employees residing in Kidapawan City and Makilala which is in addition to the existing one unit shuttle bus while one more unit will be provided for the 1st District employees or those residing in the towns of Pigcawayan, Midsayap, Libungan, Alamada, Pikit, Aleosan including those residing in the 3rd District like the towns of Kabacan and Matalam.

A mini-bus meanwhile will be assigned for the first time for those workers living in Mlang and Tulunan.

Both measures undertaken by the present provincial leadership were applauded by the employees especially so that workers have long been beset by transport and security problems.

Governor Catamco has time and again emphasized that she firmly believes that “charity begins at home” and that she wants to continuously push for reforms especially inside the provincial capitol as she wants her closest partners–the employees, to feel empowered and dignified.  //ozg\\
