Amas, Kidapawan City- In response to Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) threat and to help barangays of the province in stockpiling of food supplies in case this threat lingers and results in a worse case scenario, the Provincial Government of Cotabato allocated P15,575,000 as barangay aid of which, P13,575,000 will be distributed to 543 barangays of the province amounting to P25,000 each.
This, after Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 275 authored by 3rd District Board Member Joemar Cerebo was approved by Cotabato Governor Nancy A. Catamco.
The said SP resolution states that the different barangays of the province will receive cash assistance for purchasing food items and other basic commodities during the community lockdown.
As of yesterday March 30, 2020, the City of Kidapawan and the Municipality of Makilala already received their financial assistance from the provincial government facilitated by the Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO).
“This is just an initial assistance for the barangays and we assure everyone that the provincial government will maximize the resources that we have to address this calamity,” Governor Catamco said.
She also urged Cotabateños to mindfully give their share in this fight against the pandemic and emphasized that diligently following the directives of government authorities, remaining calm, staying at home, and praying for the safety of everyone especially the frontliners is the best defense against COVID-19.
Today the provincial government is set to distribute the P25,000 cash assistance in the municipalities of Matalam, M’lang, Tulunan, and Kabacan.//pgo-idcd//
