Amas, Kidapawan City– Governor Nancy A. Catamco ordered yesterday, January 20, 2020 the Local Government of Makilala and the Provincial Rehabilitation Task Force to immediately submit the validated data concerning the total number of affected families and other damages resulting from the series of strong earthquakes in October last year.
This, during the coordinative meeting held at the office of Makilala Mayor Armando Quibod related to earthquake rehabilitation as this data is crucial in accessing the P5B national fund intended for Regions XI and XII for the rehabilitation and recovery process of the earthquake-affected areas in both regions.
“The provincial government wants to begin with the recovery and rehabilitation phase in Makilala but we have to complete and submit the correct data. National Housing Authority gave us the deadline to complete all the data needed before January 27, 2020 specifically the list and names of affected households and other damage reports, so that we can finalize our rehabilitation and recovery plan and proceed with this much delayed intervention,” the Governor emphasized.

The Governor also added that LGU Makilala and the provincial rehabilitation task force should make sure to qualify the “highly at risk” areas identified and ask the Mines and Geosciences Bureau whether these are habitable, not habitable, or if these only need immediate mitigation or long term mitigation.
She also said that those families who want to go back to their respective houses can receive food assistance aside from cash assistance of P10K for partially damaged and P30K for totally damaged houses.
