Since she reassumed Office last November 21, 2019, Governor Nancy A. Catamco has visited various evacuation centers and affected areas in the municipalities of Makilala, Tulunan, Magpet, and Kidapawan City to personally see the condition of the affected families hit by magnitude 6.3, 6.6 and 6.5 earthquakes on October 16, 29, and 31, respectively.
During said visit to the evacuation centers, the Governor has asked the barangay officials and the affected residents, “what are your needs and concerns so that the provincial government and LGUs can provide proper intervention.”
She also emphasized that the Provincial Government of Cotabato will be implementing a Comprehensive Provincial Rebuilding Plan (CPRP) that will be a tool in unifying, harmonizing and strengthening rehabilitation efforts of the province.
The key programs for the CPRP will cover the following: Adopt a Family to build a home, Adopt a School to Build a Future and Adopt a Community to Build a Strong Nation.
In her consultation with the evacuees of Cabilao who have relocated in the evacuation center installed in Old Bulatukan, Makilala on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, Governor Catamco declared, “To those evacuees who want to go back to their respective homes the provincial government in partnership with LGU Makilala will provide rebuilding kits and materials. I know it’s not easy to cope with this catastrophe but let us be positive and move forward, together we will rebuild Makilala, and we will rebuild a better North Cotabato.”
Most of the evacuees who want to go home to their respective homes are assured of relief assistance as Governor Catamco directed LGU Makilala and the PSWD to facilitate her declaration.
Aside from visiting evacuation centers the governor has also conducted ocular inspection and site visit to barangays declared as no-build zones.//ras//
