Amas, Kidapawan City – The Provincial Government of Cotabato,cognizant of the important role of families in community development fully supportsthe National Program on Population and Family Planning.
This was the commitment of the provincial leadership during the courtesy visit on September 24, 2019of the Regional Project Management Team from the Regional Commission on Population and Development Office headed by Assistant Regional Director Desiree Concepcion Garganian.
Acting Governor Emmylou “Lala” J. Taliño-Mendoza commended the team as well as the new direction pursued by the national program on population and family planning.
According to ARD Garganian, Cotabato province has been chosen as the site for the intensified implementation of Executive Order No. 12 – “Attaining and Sustaining Zero Unmet Need for Modern Family Planning Through the Implementation of the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Law.”
Carmen and Pikit are the two focus municipalities. The Regional Project Management Team in coordination with the Population Development Division under the Office of the Governor will oversee the implementation of the key strategies and activities relating to Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning program.
The said program to be launched on October 16, 2019 at the provincial gymnasium Amas, Kidapawan City targets 41,177 couples as beneficiaries./idcd/
