The Department of the Interior and Local Government Unit (DILG) Region XII new Director Josephine C. Leysa, CESO V, was guest speaker in yesterday’s Local Government Unit (LGU) Day held at the Pavilion, Capitol Compound, Amas, Kidapawan City.
In her message, RD Leysa appreciated the local government unit of Cotabato for its continuing commitment to uphold the standard of transparency, integrity and delivery of services that institutionalized the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), an annual performance evaluation of LGUs.
RD Leysa also cited four local government units from the province of North Cotabatothat are regularly nominated for the SGLG awards which are Magpet, Libungan, Kidapawan City and Midsayap. She is hopeful that the achievement of the said LGUs will inspire other LGUs to striveharder to deliver the best public serviceto their respective localities.
Meanwhile, Acting Governor Emmylou “Lala” J. Taliño-Mendoza was elated with the presence of the municipal and barangay officials coming from the 2nd Congressional District of the province of Cotabatofor their active participation in celebrating the Kalivungan Festival.
Mendoza said that as one people, Cotabateños should continue to be united and be proud of their achievements in the last 105 years.
LGU day program is one of the highlightsin the 105th foundation anniversary celebration of the province of Cotabato purposely for the municipal and barangay officials to convene and promote camaraderie.
The LGU day is a three -day activity which started August 27 with six local government units coming from theCotabato 1st Congressional District namely: Pigcawayan, Libungan, Alamada, Midsayap, Aleosan and Pikit. //mdd\\
