Godofredo Calabroso Elemenatry School Drum and Lyre Corps representing the municipality of Libungan is this year’s champion for the Musical Street Parade-Marching Band competition and took home P50,000.00 cash prize and certificate of participation during the opening of the 105th Foundation Anniversary of the province of Cotabato on August 26, 2019.
It was also given a special award for Best in Costume and given an additional cash prize of P2,000.
1st runner-up, Alamada Central Elementary School bagged a cash prize of P40,000.00, trophy and certificate of participation. It also garnered two special awards for Best in Street Marching Band and for Most Disciplined Group whereby additional cash prize of P2,000.00was given for each award.
Pigcawayan Central Elementary School was declared 2nd runner-up and received P30,000.00 plus trophy and certificate of participation.
Meanwhile, non-winners received consolation prize of P 13,750.00 each and certificate of participation. These are the contingents fromKabacan Pilot Elementary School, Midsayap Pilot Elementary School, Tulunan Central Elementary School and Lika Central Elementary School of Mlang who received a special award of Best Mother Majorette.
Acting Governor Shirlyn Macasarte-Villanueva who graced the said occasion was elated with the active participation of the elementary pupils who did not only showcase their talents but also entertained the multitude of visitors during the opening of the Kalivungan Festival at the capitol gounds, Amas, Kidapawan City.
This year’s Musical Street Parade-Marching Band competition was facilitated jointly by the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian and the Department of Education. //mdd//
