The Cotabato Provincial Skills Competition dubbed as “Flavors of Cotabato” will once again be among the highlights of this year’s Kalivungan Festival. This whole day culinary skills competition will showcase unique dishes that can best represent the province of North Cotabato.
This event promises fun and excitement as North Cotabateños equipped with talent and expertise clash and outdo each other on August 26, 2019 at 8:00 o’clock in the morning at the Provincial Gymnasium, Amas, Kidapawan City.
The said skills competition has two categories which includes students category for 16 to 25 years old, studying within the Province of North Cotabato and the professional category for employees at least 18 years of age and currently employed at food-related establishments or from local government units in the province.
Flavors of Cotabato will be featuring dishes of one of the province’s famous freshwater fish which is the dalag (mudfish) where the Best Dalag Appetizer and Best Dalag Dish will be declared winners.
Other events open for competition include Bartandem and On-the- Spot Cake Decorating for student category and Best Kakanin, On-the- Spot Cake Decorating, and Fondant Cake Decorating for professionals.
Cash prizes, medals and trophies await the winners in each event. P5,000.00, P3,000.00 and P2,000.00 cash prize for first, second, and 3rd place winners respectively.P12,000.00 will be awarded to the winner of the fondant cake decorating competition. Now on its 10th year, this provincial skills competition is sponsored by the provincial government of North Cotabato in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Tourism 12 (DOT) and Cotabato Province Tourism Council (CPTC). //mdd//
