Provincial Government of Cotabato to conduct joint RTF- PTF- ELCAC Meeting

In preparation for the upcoming Local Serbisyo Caravan as one of the requirements of EO 70 or the whole-of-nation approach in attaining inclusive and sustainable peace, the Provincial Government of Cotabato will spearhead the joint Regional and Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-PTF-ELCAC) meeting on September 12, 2019.

During the joint Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC), Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Development Council (PDC) Meeting held yesterday, September 4, 2019 at the Provincial Capitol Rooftop, Amas, Kidapawan City, Provincial Director Ali B. Abdullah duly represented by Ms. Vita Gumahad presented to the council the provincial level implementation plan of EO 70 to combat terrorism and violent extremism.

According to her, the Governor of the province shall serve as the chairperson and the Brigade Commanders of AFP and PNP Provincial Director shall serve as the vice chairpersons. The SP Member on Peace and Order and Security, SP member on social services, LnB (Liga ng Barangay) Provincial Chapter President, SK Provincial Chapter President and other stakeholders from different line agencies shall serve as members.

The PTF-ELCAC shall ensure the creation of the City and Municipal Task Force which shall complement EO 70 within their areas of jurisdiction. It will also organize ad hoc inter agency and multi-sectoral clusters, councils, committees, and groups at the provincial level.

The joint RTF-PTF-ELCAC meeting will focus on the creation of Provincial Peace Panel, Draft of Local Peace Engagement Plan, List of Cafgu Active Auxillaries (CAAs) and Georaphically Isolated and Depressed Areas (GIDAS) for prioritization and Needs Assessment Survey Results, and Copy of Barangay Development Plan (BDP’s) of the ELCAC Priority Barangays.

In her response, Acting Governor Emmylou “Lala” Taliño Mendoza told the PNP and AFP officials, BFP, BJMP, municipal mayors and other stakeholders that peace and order is everybody’s business and the success of EO 70 implementation in the province depends on the collaborative effort of everyone.//ras//
