Amas, Kidapawan City – To give Cotabateños an easier access to medical and financial assistance from the government, a one-stop center for essential government services is soon to operate in the province.
On Monday, December 1, 2020, Cotabato Governor Nancy A. Catamco visited the Malasakit Center facility located within the Cotabato Provincial Hospital here where the governor expressed excitement for the Malasakit Center to be fully operational in the province.
The Malasakit Center is aimed to serve as a one-stop shop to hasten the delivery of medical services and other related assistance. Representatives from different government agencies such as the Department of Health (DOH), Philippine Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Department of Social Welfare and Development Office and Philippine Health Insurance Program (PhilHealth) are all gathered in one roof to provide medical and financial assistance to incapacitated patients and families.
According to the governor, the said facility will provide people-centered health services that will help indigent and poor families lessen their burden during health emergencies.
“Once this Malasakit Center will operate, indigent and poor individuals will have the access of government assistance that they will be spared from spending more money and effort from going to one agency to another since all the government agencies they need to go for these assistance is placed in one location,” the governor said.
Meanwhile, Integrated Provincial Health Officer (IPHO) Dr. Eva C. Rabaya, said that as of now IPHO are processing the needed requirements and waiting for the Memoramdum of Agreement (MOA) for the Malasakit Center to finally operate.//pgo-idcd//
