Vice Governor Emmylou “LaLa” J. Taliño-Mendoza has recommended the review and refinement of the proposed Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA) 2020-2022 in order to come up with a comprehensive development plan that reflects the thrusts and priorities of Governor Nancy A. Catamco.
This, after seeing the presentation of sectoral programs, projects and activities (PPAs) and discussing these with the members of the Task Force on ELA 2020-2022 in a meeting this morning at the Capitol Rooftop, Amas, Kidapawan City.
Vice Governor Mendoza emphasised the importance of clarity in crafting the executive-legislative agenda, saying “it will embody the three-year development plan of the province after the concurrence of the Sangguniang Panalalwigan through appropriate legislative action.”
“We in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan abide by a standard. Apart from our legislative function, we also have an oversight function by which we ensure the ‘check and balance’ principle in governance,” Mendoza added.
Ms. Cynthia D. Ortega, Chief of the Provincial Planning and Development Office, heads Task Force ELA which includes department and division heads and focal persons.
The Executive-Legislative Agenda is a unifying document corresponding to the term of office of local elective officials that is developed and mutually agreed upon by both the executive and legislative branches. It is a requirement of the Department of the Interior and Local Government as mandated by the Local Government Code of 1991.// idcd//
