The Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) confirmed this morning during a meeting with Cotabato Governor Nancy Alaan-Catamco in her office that they will conduct a Small Farmers and Micro Small Medium Enterprises (Micro-SMEs), Roll Out Caravan on July 31 at the Provincial Gymnasium, Amas Kidapawan City.
This followed when the Landbank Kidapawan City Branch, Loan Manager, Rose Cabanial expressed to the governor their interest of collaborating their effort in helping small farmers and SMEs in the province of Cotabato to level up their production and income through financing scheme.
Cabanial said that through roll out caravan more smallholder farmers and SMEs in the province will be informed about their program.
About six hundred participants from all over the province of Cotabato are expected to join the one day roll out caravan. Loan desk, account officers and banking sectors will be available on the said activity to entertain all the queries of the participants.
Governor Catamco on her behalf expressed elation with the noble intention showed by the Landbank. “This is one of my advocacy to help more Cotabateños especially the indigenous people, small farmers and SMEs with minimum income to have more earnings through sustainable agriculture economic programs,” the governor said.
It would be better if there is also a program intended for the person with disabilities (PWDs) who are capable and have skills but lack of access on how to avail financing programs. This way we are helping them not only to earn their own money but we are also helping them become resourceful and creative at the same time, the governor added.
Cabanial assured that they will look into it, as she cited that in Luzon the LBP in partnership with Senator Cynthia A. Villar is helping those abused women how to make bags out of plastic materials. She believed that it might possible also to do the same here in the province of Cotabato. //mdd//
