Poblacion 2 is the fourth barangay in Midsayap to benefit from the province’s animal dispersal this year.
Thru the effort of the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian headed by Dr. Rufino Suropia and officials of the beneficiary barangay, the conduct of the distribution was turned out a success.
The animal dispersal, which has long been put into action since the change of administration last 2010, is in response to the clamored needs of the people, specifically small range farmers who are not in capacity to purchase livestock.
Ninety-three (93) goats and fifty-five (55) swine were distributed at Poblacion 2’s covered court.
Governor Emmylou “Lala” J. Taliño-Mendoza herself initiated the program to help uplift the lives of every Cotabateño and to provide them motivation to strive hard in order to become productive.
1st District Board Member Loreto V. Cabaya came to witness the dispersal activity and deliver his simple message to the beneficiaries present.
He then advised them to raise their animals properly and take good care of them until they deliver their first offspring.
In an interview carried out by some media personnel, Cabaya appealed to those who want to avail the program.
“For those who want to benefit the livestock program of the Provincial Government of Cotabato, you may write your group request addressed to the Office of the Governor for her approval,” Cabaya in his announcement.
Part of the memorandum of the animal dispersal program of the provincial government is to bring the first offspring to the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPVet) in order to circulate them for re-dispersal.
The animals according to Dr. Sorupia were screened to guarantee that all are free from diseases.
Another batch will receive large animals next week. //venes bacarat & sharon grace henry/pgo//
