Multi-cabs distributed by PGCot hasten mobility in barangays

AMAS, Kidapawan City (Mar 27) – Barely a week after the distribution of some 32 units of multi-cabs in different villages last March 21, 2017, recipient barangay officials claimed their mobility is now faster and they are able to immediately respond to official travels and other requests.

Reynaldo G. Galanto, Barangay Chairman of Baguer, Libungan said the multi-cab they received from the Provincial Government of Cotabato concurrent to the State of the Province Address (SOPA) provided barangay officials the capacity to move easily and transport villagers in official business or in authorized transactions.

“This is significant to us because we are now equipped with a vehicle that helps us to perform our duties and responsibilities especially in transport and carrying materials”, said Galanto.

Gov Emmylou “Lala” J. Taliṅo-Mendoza enunciated that the distribution is part of her commitment to village officials to help them in their undertaking and providing service to their constituents and for them to have efficiently performed in their duties in rendering truthful public service.

Furthermore, Gov Taliṅo-Mendoza said the multi-cabs were initially requested by barangay officials and were granted to villages deemed needful of transport facility.

The multi-cabs were distributed to Pigcawayan (1), Alamada (1), Libungan (6), Midsayap (5), Aleosan (1), Matalam (3), Mlang (1), Tulunan (3), Makilala (4), Magpet (1), Pres. Roxas (3), Antipas (1), and Kidapawan City (2). The vehicles were blessed by Fr. Paul Paracha, DCK and were released to beneficiaries who also signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) which contains stipulations on the use of the vehicles.

The turn over ceremony was held at the Provincial Capitol grounds, Brgy Amas, Kidapawan City concurrent to the SOPA of the governor.

During the MOA signing, the Provincial General Services Office (PGSO) reminded the recipient barangay officials that the multi-cabs must be used only for official transactions such as extending assistance to their respective residents like in the case of medical and relief operations, transport of villagers during official engagements and other barangay-related events and not to be used as personal vehicles.

“As symbols of the advocacy of Serbisyong Totoo, we promise to utilize these vehicles properly and take care of them as if they are our own property”, said Barangay Chairman Ricardo A. Herosa of Bagumbayan, Tulunan.

Another village chairman, John Karl Sibug of Sudapin, Kidapawan City after signing the MOA expressed his gratitude to the provincial leadership for consistently looking into the welfare of the constituents. “We are both lucky and blessed to have a leader like Gov Taliṅo-Mendoza who is not just dynamic but a leader with a true heart to serve the people”, he said.

The distribution was witnessed by Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) Party-list Representative Raymond D. Mendoza and Board Members Ryan Taliṅo and Albert G. Rivera (PCL-Cot Chapter President).

In return, the recipients thanked Gov Taliṅo-Mendoza for her entrusting them the vehicles and for the opportunity given to them to help the provincial government in effecting genuine public service and developments efforts in the villages.

The Provincial Government of Cotabato has already conducted a series of distribution of multi-cabs last year in many barangays located in the three districts of Cotabato through the support of the national government and the TUCP. (JIMMY STA. CRUZ/Photos by ROVILLE ANN SOTTO-PGO Media Center)
