DOH, CPH, CRMC Cotabato City launches Surgical Caravan in NCot

Amas, Kidapawan City – Doctors, Dentists, Nurses, midwives, and personnel of the Cotabato Provincial Hospital(CPH), District Hospitals, and Cotabato Regional Medical Center (CRMC) joint forces as they launch surgical caravan themed “ToDOH alaga, May Tsekap na, may Operasyon pa,” today.

The platform is initiated by the Department of Health (DOH) as a nationwide health service campaign centered to provide surgical operations ranging from minor to major cases for indigent patients, at no cost.

Initial screening started last September 12, 2017 at the host hospital CPH, resulting into 144 combined cases of surgery, OB Gynecology, and Ophthalmology. The number is expected to increase soon as it continues to cater more patients until the last day of evaluation.

According to the initial report submitted by Dr. Eva Rabaya, Head of the Integrated Provincial Hospital Office (IPHO), all eye surgeries will be executed at CRMC. While all laboratory examinations including ECG, Chest X-ray, and Ultrasound procedures are to be completed at CPH.

Dr. Lilian Roldan, Head of CPH, heartily stated that this program is a big help for those who couldn’t afford to pay for the procedures. She also encouraged prospect patients to have their selves checked and examined, for it is a mere opportunity to be included on the final list.

Governor Taliño-Mendoza expressed her profound gratitude to DOH for creating a health care program dedicated to the poor. She also acknowledged the participating team for their dedicated efforts in realizing the provisions of surgical intervention to those who seriously need them.

There will also be free consultations for Pediatric cases, Surgery, OB/Gynecology, and Medicine on September 18-20, 2017. And a one-day dental activity is scheduled on September 20, 2017.

Four District Hospitals, the Amado Diaz Provincial Foundation Hospital, M’lang District Hospital, Aleosan District Hospital, and Carmen Municipal Hospital also participated on the said caravan. (Sharon H. Deuna/pgo-idcd)
