A proud 59 years for Barangay Banayal in Tulunan

What could be more jovial for a certain village than to celebrate its founding anniversary? This is so true for the residents of Barangay Banayal in Tulunan municipality of North Cotabato who celebrated their 59th founding anniversary on September 26, 2013.

A culmination program held in Banayal Elementary School served as the highlight of the celebration where hundreds of residents joined the merriment.

 
The program’s guest of honor was no less than NotCot . Governor Emmylou “Lala” Taliṅo-Mendoza. In her arrival, she was greeted by residents who waited eagerly for her to join their most important day in the village.

 
Barangay Banayal Chairman Azucena Lacumbo and her colleagues in the barangay council was elated to have Gov. Taliṅo-Mendoza in the activity.

 
Azucena was also proud to tell the governor that at 59, the village continues to thrive especially with the programs and projects of the provincial government.

 
The provincial government thru the Office of the Provincial Engineering has implemented numerous infrastructure projects in the municipality of Tulunan along with the programs for health, education and agriculture of Governor Taliṅo-Mendoza.

 
The governor on the other hand, congratulated Azucena and the rest of Banayal’s barangay officials for giving their constituents a truthful service they deserved.

 
She has assured the people of Barangay Banayal of the continued good governance of the provincial government under her term.

 
Gov. Taliṅo-Mendoza has also told the residents that indeed, they were fortunate enough to celebrate this day as other villages in the province are experiencing violence brought about by external armed groups.

 
She was referring to the incident of harassment made by the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) in at least 5 barangays in Midsayap municipality early this week but immediately told everyone that the situation there is already under control.

 
The governor also related the loud explosions in Barangay Tibao in the adjacent municipality of M’lang Monday dawn.
Reports say that an unidentified armed group was seen entering the area.

 
But she assured everyone that the 40th IB of the Phil. Army and the Cotabato Provincial Police Office has already sent troops to the area and secured the place.

 
“The military and the police are both in full alert status to act on the threats in the peace and order situation in North Cotabato province ” Gov. Taliṅo-Mendoza said.

 
After her message, the governor mingled with the residents and personally thanked them for supporting all her programs and projects under the “Serbisyong Totoo” advocacy.

 
She also made sure that all the pupils of Banayal Elementary School have received new slippers and were provided free snacks.
