Registration of agricultural, fisheries machinery and equipment to be implemented in NorthCot

Amas, Kidapawan City (March 12, 2021)- Agri-fisheries machinery and equipment used by farmers in the province will soon be recorded and accounted for.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan’s Committee on Agriculture and Food chaired by Board Member Maria Krista Piñol-Solis recently conducted a public hearing on the Proposed Provincial Ordinance No. 2021-16-002, An Ordinance Implementing the Registration of Ownership of Agricultural and Fisheries Machinery and Equipment.

Said ordinance aims to require the registration of agricultural and fisheries machinery and equipment in the Province of Cotabato pursuant to Republic Act 10601 otherwise known as the AFMech Law.

The proposed registration will ensure the quality and safety of agri-fisheries machineries and equipment as well as provide rational planning and programming of government investments and resources.

The said move is also eyed to facilitate the location of lost units and will be used as legal basis for the availment of government services and other programs.

Assisted by the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, the public hearing was actively participated by the Department of Agriculture-Regional Agricultural Engineering Division (DA-RAED), DA’s Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHILMECH) , National Irrigation Administration, Sangguniang Bayan’s Committee on Agriculture from different local government units (LGUs) in the province, farmer and irrigator’s associations and other stakeholders.//pgo-idcd//
