Provincial Government of Cotabato now accepts college scholarship applications

Amas, Kidapawan City- The Provincial Government of Cotabato through the Cotabato Provincial Investment and Promotion Center (CPIPC) is now accepting applicants for the Provincial Scholarship Program for School Year 2021-2022.

According to CPIPC Head and Scholarship Program Coordinator Norito A. Mazo, poor but deserving incoming and recently enrolled college students are qualified to avail the said program.

He also added that all the applicants will undergo the usual screening process and required to take the qualifying exam which will be announced later on.

On Tuesday, January 5, 2020 the CPIPC made an announcement that the provincial government is now ready to accept applicants until January 31, 2021 with the following requirements:

  • Application letter addressed to the Provincial Governor;
  • Photocopy of latest grades;
  • Good Moral Certificate;
  • Photocopy of Income Tax Return of Parents not exceeding Php40,000;
  • Barangay Clearance;
  • Photocopy of birth certificate.

Based on the recent statistics, last 2020 the province produced a total of 201 graduates and 4 of them graduated cum laude from the University of Southern Mindanao. As of now the provincial government has a total of 2,024 existing scholars. .

It can be recalled, that education is one of the top priorities of Governor Nancy A. Catamco’s administration. In fact, in 2019 the governor allotted additional 845 slots, from 1,179 to 2,024 scholars per year. .

Those who will qualify to the said scholarship program is allowed to enroll in any universities and colleges in the province and will receive Php6,000 scholarship grant per semester from the provincial government. //pgo-idcd//
