Governor Catamco calls for unity and cooperation amidst the COVID-19 pandemic

Members of Cotabato Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDDRMC) chaired by Governor Nancy A. Catamco were convened today,March 26, 2020 for the PDRRM full council meeting at the Provincial Capitol Rooftop, Amas, Kidapawan City.

Cotabato Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) Head Dr. Eva C. Rabaya presented to the council the COVID-19 situational report wherein she reported that as of March 25, 2020 (4:00pm), 1,325 individuals were under monitoring (PUM) and 66 individuals were under investigation (PUI) but 16 of them were already cleared but emphasized that as today there is no confirmed case of COVID-19 in Cotabato province.

Rabaya also elaborated on the action taken by provincial government through IPHO to prevent the virus from spreading which include: putting up and strengthening of COVID Control points in 8 strategic areas, Establishing of COVID Isolation Facility at Cotabato Provincial Hospital (CPH), and allocating P26M from PDRRM-Quick Response Fund in purchasing medical supplies, medicines and other materials for COVID-19 response.

Governor Catamco ordered the AFP and frontliners conducting a checkpoint at Barangay Paco, Kidapawan City to be transfered in East Patadon, Kidapawan City since the said barangay is the entry point going to Kidapawan City.

Catamco also proposed that health workers, frontliners and government personnel should have a special lane to avoid traffic delay especially in delivering medical and basic services.

She also urged everyone to strictly follow the government advisories and policy to contain the virus from spreading and reminded everyone to be vigilant and prayerful despite the calamity.

The governor also expressed her gratitude to all medical personnel and frontliners for risking their lives just to prevent the deadly virus that killed thousands of lives around the globe.

“I hope everyone of us will take good care of our health. Let us cooperate with our government efforts in ending this catastrophe. As Cotabateño, we insolate our province but we don’t isolate ourselves from each other by being irresponsible, reckless and uncharitable. Filipino values of damayan and malasakit sa kapwa should always prevail, ” the governor concluded. //pgo-idcd//
