PG Cot assistance for the earthquake victims continues

Amas, Kidapawan City – The Provincial Government of Cotabato continues to distribute shelter materials and supplies and family food packs to earthquake-affected families in the province.

This morning a total of 332 families with partially damaged houses and 13 with totally damaged houses from 14 barangays in the municipality of Matalam received various assistance for the repair of their damaged houses.

The said assistance includes: 6 marine plywood, 2 kilos common nails (1kg- 2.5 inches and  1kg- 4 inches), 1 kg sugar and family food packs for families with partially damaged houses and 8 pieces G.I sheets,   1kg umbrella nails, half sack of rice, 1 kg sugar and family food packs for families with totally damaged houses.

For their counterpart, the local government unit of Matalam also extended 2 meters insulation foam and 6.6 liters of mineral water to  each affected family.

During the said distribution, Cotabato Provincial Task Force on Rehabilitation Vice Chair Mr. Basilio E. Obello, Jr.,in his message said that with the unified efforts of the provincial government under the leadership of Governor Nancy A. Catamco in partnership with the Vice Governor’s Office and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members, GOs, NGOs and other stakeholders, he is hopeful that affected families are assured of government’s support and concern. 

“It may be an uphill climb to finally rebuild our homes and lives but for as long as we stand together, pray together, and work together as one family, we will surpass this challenge,” he added.//idcd-pgo//.
