Better benefits await PWDs in Cotabato Province

Members of the Federation of Persons with Disabilities in the province of Cotabato will be receiving better benefits from the provincial government.

This was disclosed by Cotabato Governor Nancy Catamco today, July 17, during her meeting with the municipal federation heads held at her office.

“I’ll make sure that you get to enjoy the budget allocated for you by the national government”, the Governor told them.

Governor Catamco wants PWDs in the province to be trained and that she will reserve a space for PWDs inside the capitol which will not only serve as their office but will also be used as a venue for capacity building seminars and skill trainings.

Governor Catamco however encouraged the group to come up with project proposals which will serve as the basis for the provision of benefits and the conduct of trainings.

Appointments of PWD focal persons assigned in different LGUs will also be looked into as the Governor expressed desire to appoint only those who are also members of the federation.

To date, the province has close to 12,000 PWD members.

A Summit will also be organized which will be facilitated by the Provincial Government where needs assessment activities of the PWDs will be conducted//ozg\\
